After closing our retail store, graphic design and marketing business in 2010, my husband Richard Hovel and I realized our life long dream of living in California.
Since that time we have become very involved with the architecture preservation community here in Palm Springs. So much so, that we co-founded an organization named the Palm Springs Architectural Alliance. Member organizations of the alliance are all groups founded to preserve, protect, identify and promote various styles of architecture for which Palm Springs is famous.
Additionally we each have our own art practices. I am a shoemaker, teach workshops in sandal making, jewelry and textile design. Richard is a computer graphic and video wizard and is responsible for making all of our fundraising efforts look great. He is also a sculptor. We have one daughter in Minneapolis and two in Brooklyn.
